Thats scary.
By the numbers an X2900 is faster than a 7900GTX and thats what I've got.

Will probably have to move to Vista, buy 4 gigs of RAM, another CPU (my current is fast but its a socket 939) and get the best GeForce 8800 I can find.

And with all that I'll likely need a new power supply.

it also seems that i was only using 1 core in the demo, perhaps it isnt optimized for dual core yet i dont know.

it probably isnt optimized for multi-core.I get pretty bad performance with my 3.2 ghz quad,2900 xt,4 gigs in Vista.

I played in 64-bit/32-bit, DX 9/DX10 and the performance sucks on high and very high and I only play at 1280 x 720.

According to FRAPS i was getting around 10 fps on very high DX10 and 18 fps on high DX9.

Vista runs Crysis like ass. Very High settings are not playable and that's all DX10 really gives you. High settings in XP works great for me, avg of 30fps at 1680x1050. 8800gtx

Something must be wrong. With my rig in sig....

DX9 / win xp
Resolution 1440x900
Everything on high
and I average 21 fps

and that is with fraps

This is why i'll wait at least another year for Vista. Still not a whole lot of support for DX10 and all of it's glory so not much of a incentive to make the switch.

Seems like every DX10 title that comes requires more driver updates and more game patches. I don't feel like waiting a month after the games release for performance issues to be resolved on vista. All for a few extra softened shadows and particle effects.

Blegh. Crysis runs like crap on my laptop - core 2 duo..something. It's the 2 ghz model, 7600 go.

Obviously it's not a powerhouse by any means, but running Crysis on low still gives me horrid performance.

x1800xt 512mb
AMD x2 3800+ @ 2.7ghz
2gb ram
win xp x64
game in 64 bit mode

With everything on high, was getting around 9fps.
with everything on medium except sound and water (which were on high), I was averaging 21fps.
with everything on medium except sound and water (which were on high), with 4xAA on, I was getting about 6fps (but it looked nice!)

All at 1280x1024.

I needs a new video card :(

Pretty sure it's Vista, with the rig in sig I was consistently at 30fps+ at 1440 x 900 with High Settings in XP.

EDIT: That was with the HD 2900XT not Geforce 6100 Lols

I am averaging 27.5 FPS with the built in GPU time demo on medium settings 1280x960, on a 1950P 256MB..Vista 32.

1600x1200 - 22.1 FPS
1024x768 - 35.0 FPS

Vista works fine for me. Run 64-bit, DX10, everything very high except shadows and post processing on medium. 1280x1024 I average 30fps.

Despite what everyone thinks...running on high does NOT use DX9 unless you specifically use the games explorer to select DX9 mode.

I have never seen a game that benefits from 16x...turn it down to 4x, or maybe even 2x.
