2900 Pro CF or a wait for future

Ok, as i have effectively killed my 3870 x2 with a stupid Vmod i now have to buy a new card or maybe crossfire my existing single 2900 Pro...!! My blunt question is that is it worth it "crossfire" or should i wait for GT200/ Rv770 and buy a whole new card in july\whenever??

Will 9900 GTS be around $350 like the 4870 or will it be more expensive???

I guess you already know that to do cross fire with 2900 pro is the worst thing you can do right now.

If I were you, I would overclock the pro to XT clocks ( but carefully this time 😉 ) , and wait for the next generation of cards to arrive. This should still be a good card for current games, especially if you don't use AA.

Wait until RV770/GT200 theyre close. If you want to try your hand at Vmodding again (although I guess not 😛), the 2900 series are ridiculously easy to Vmod seeing as you can do it with a simple BIOS flash (allows ranges from 1.05- 1.35v....1.15v is stock I remember). Use the Foxconn Quantum force bios flasher tool and you are done (make sure you have adequate cooling etc etc).

just wait, the 2900's suck power like crazy, in xfire they would draw a ton of power. a single 4870 gddr5 should perform about the speed of xfire'd 2900pros give or take with less than 1/2 of the power use judging from the leaked specs.
