I couldn't have hit Vegas without riding at least one coaster.

The coaster at New York New York is pretty weak for how long of a line and how expensive it is. The best ride is the tower on top of the stratosphere. Similar to other ones accross the nation, but this one is at 1100 feet. Very cool!
Yeah it is expensive, but not a bad coaster. Although, it was long known as one of the roughest in the world. It was made by the Japanese company TOGO, which is now out of business. Many of their coasters are/were rough and require a lot of maintenance to keep going. Although they did make King Cobra that was at King's Island and Ultra Twister that was last located at Astroworld (& 2 parks before that), both of which I really liked and miss. Both in storage now.
Anyway, the coaster at NY NY got new trains by a different manufacturer (Premier Rides) last year, which are supposedly a little smoother. These are the trains that look like 50's hot rod cars. At that time it was also renamed from Manhattan Express to Roller Coaster. :disgust:
Also sometime late last year the Big Shot (the tower ride you mentioned) on the Stratosphere was modified/rehabbed and got a new cart, by Interactive Rides, and reports say it was neutered and now sucks, being much less powerful now. It was originally made by S&S Power. At least it is still high up though. I think the scariest rides would be the two flat rides that hang you over (1 more than the other) the side of the Stratosphere.
