1. last december nearly killed a guy in a car accident.
2. two cars break down on me
3. wife had health scare
4. daughter will be undergoing open heart surgery later this month to fix a hole in her heart.

i hope it gets better from here on out.

Look at it this way, you can't feel good about something until you've felt bad about something else. Next year will be awesome dude, chin up.
 
I've got a little cousins who had the same problem with his heart. He is 5 now, and had the surgery years ago. He made a full recovery. It seems like congenital heart defects are unfortunately somewhat common. The good news is that there are lots of great doctors with a lot of expertise and experience in open heart surgery!
 
That's nothing.... My worst year was 2001 - 2.5 months in the hospital, learned my GF was cheating, 2 cars gone, had to move, only saving grace was that my job was still there. Hope you feel better soon, things WILL get better.
 
It's been a long December, and there's reason to believe, maybe this year will be better than the last.

I do hope you have a better year in 2011. However, if the above was the sum total of the worse year of your life, you have truly been blessed. I guess it is all relative.

And, good thoughts for your daughter. That kind of surgery is tough at the time, but the kids come out of it great and you will wonder why you worried so much.

Any experience will help put others in perspective. When you go through a crappy period, you learn to appreciate even the small moments of happiness more later.

Worst year of your life SO FAR....

Anyway, I have a saying- the deeper the valley the higher the peak. I'm sure something great will be coming up for you to even things out.
