My workstation doesn't have a "real" burner, but I bought the newest version of Nero for my notebook and I installed it on my workstation first. The neat thing about Nero is it lets you choose image recorder which essentially is a hard disk that acts like a cd burner...

That's how fast a X1536LP can write a cd image. Pretty impressive to say the least. This could be used as a real world benchmark for disk writing performance as well!
