2800+ or 3000+ for gaming? also, how is the abit kv8 pro?

is there a noticeable difference between these two processors? and how well do they both overclock? i can get the 2800+ for significantly cheaper than i can the 3000+, so if they are virtually identical i will go with that. also, about the abit kv8 pro, how well does it overclock?
any help is appreciated and thanks in advance
