I'm trying to fix a problem with my computer locking up and I'm wondering if it's the video card (please refer to "Help with AMD Athlon 1800" thread if you want to make suggestions that don't have to do with this driver). Should I download the 28.32 drivers? I read a couple of threads here about people having problems with the new drivers, so I was wondering if people have downloaded and installed them successfully without any problems. Thanks.

so far i've been using 28.32 driver, and it is much more stable than the previos version (23.11 and 21.85).
fyi, when i used 23.11, the system locks up very frequently and randomly (sometimes after 1 hr, sometimes after 11 hr, but sometimes after 5 minutes!!! i could use the 23.11 stably only when using AGP2x. Now, i used 28.32 with AGP 4x.
btw, if your system is unstable, try to use AGP2x instead.
AGP4x is just bullsh1t marketing hoax, in my opinion..

what driver version do you have installed now? going to 28.32 for me solved a long period of regular lockups.

I've never had lockups that I could trace to a video driver (sound driver, yeah, but not video). Anyway, been using them since they came out. No problems.

salz, i just read that someone been reading that there is some issues with Gigabyte and geforce 4 cards. Not sure it this has any basis, but it is something to keep mindful
try a different video card.

Where did you read that gigabyte gf4 thing? My next mobo is probably going to be a gigabyte and I don't want any problems.
