270X died, looking at an 390.

What's there to bump? RS's answer pretty much covers your question

I just want all opinions. I don't think my FX6350 would limit it that much. There's not even many games where I've felt, that my CPU was dragging the overall experience down.

That PSU is fine but your CPU will be a pretty big bottleneck in many games. I don't see any particular reason to spend extra on the 390 when XFX R9 290X is $253 and has lifetime warranty.

Dude did you even check this? Its dead. As I've said; all the cheap 290s are pretty much dried up. Its more expensive than 390.

You'll have a slight bottle neck with the 6350; but you can OC to about 4.4ghz without major issue and won't be that big of a deal.

You can upgrade that later if you want.

MeldarthX it was still $253 yesterday.

There's still XFX R9 290 non-X for $260 AR, not a bad deal considering that cheaper cards are pretty marginal upgrades over a 270X, and none of the more expensive cards offer that much bang for buck.

Yes, I absolutely did. My post was as of September 12th and you commented on the deal being dead 3 days later, which is September 15th. In those 3 days, Newegg sold over 100 XFX R9 290X cards and the deal started even earlier than September 12th. SlickDeals had the deal up as of September 11th, about 10am. The very definition of a hot deal is that it doesn't tend to last for weeks or months, or otherwise it would just be a good or average deal.

BTW, you still have not updated your location despite myself and other posters commenting on this point.

I'll just stick with the XFX then! :D

I would have went for the PowerColor PCS+ 390 instead. Much better cooler than the one from XFX.

I do feel that your CPU is a major bottleneck so imho performance on a $245 290 and the 390 would probably be the same with your CPU.

I've said many times I'm in the UK RS ;) So I didn't realize how long it had been running when you put it up. Sorry about that.

 I'll remember your location for sure, but it's hard to keep track of all the other 100s of members on here. :D

P.S. Correct me if I am wrong, but it looks like the R9 390/390X/Fury seem like better values in the UK right now compared to the GTX970/980 cards. The cheapest good after-market 390 is 258 pounds vs. 270 pounds for the GTX970. GTX980 is horrendously priced in the UK against the R9 390X. R9 390X = 329 pounds vs. GTX980 - 402 pounds but the Fury is 444 pounds. Are GTX970/980 really popular in the UK at those prices?

So it arrived yesterday.
Seems like I can drag GTA V on Ultra 1920x1080p no problems. Even with a "modest" FX6350 overclocked slightly. Seems like the 8GB GDDR5 already is becoming useful, since GTA V easily swallows 3.5-5GB. Also, so far, I have seen no bottlenecks with my FX6350.

There do seems to be some funky driver issues, GTA will crash every so often, coming up with an DirectX error message. Happens on 11, 10.1, and 10. Hope that'll get fixed soon :).
