I was lloking at different websites for R9 270x Benchmarks and they vary so much I am getting confuse...

I want to get a new GPU to play BF4 on my system and seeing how long it takes to get AIB R9 290s/xs I decided to go for a cheaper card to hold off until the 300 serie. First I wanted to buy a 280x but they are constantly out of stock. Then, I was thinking of getting a R9 270X but the benchmarks are so spread how it is hard to get an idea of the real performance in 1080p on BF4 Ultra all maxed (i know it wont go 60 fps).

Any has tried it and have a clear idea of it's performance?

A 270x is slightly faster than a 7870. I have no trouble maxing out BF4 @ 1080p (ultra and everything else maxed) with my 7870 at stock settings.

Here is a 280x in stock at newegg if you want to go that route. These are new cards, so unlike the 7 series, they will be coming back in stock.

Nope, I do not run my 7870s in crossfire. I mine LTC on one and game on the other.

Thanks for the infos, I order an Asus http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16814121802

I'll check what I can get out of it over the weekend and maybe order another next week depending on the results. I can't believe (in a good way) you can push playable fps out of this thing on Bf4 ultra...What kind of fps are you getting?

It is sad that AMD has not delivered anything for the 290s yet. I was really going for them but don't want to wait another month or so.

I decided to go with much cheaper card to hold until next gen and hopefully, they won't do the same mistake twice.. They lost me for bigger profits this time.

I usually get between 40-50 fps stable on big maps. However, my CPU (i7 4770k) is OCed to 4.3GHz which certainly helps make things run smoothly.

That Asus card is a good choice, you should have no problems running any games @ 1080p with it.

I just bought an i7-4770k with a H100i so i should be able to bring it up 4.4 without much trouble! I'll post my results once I get my mobo and GPU.

I had a hard time choosing between that 270 and an gtx 770 (with game bundles sold it comes to same price) but I have faith in mantle.. we will see soon enought if it pays off.

I am sure I could push my i7 4770k further with some manual tweaking but unfortunately I don't have the cooling for it. It gets up to about 70*C on 4.3GHz and it's winter... I don't think you will have any trouble getting 4.4 or 4.5 with it as long as you don't get a lemon ;)

Edit: When I auto tuned it using the BCLK only, I was able to get the same OC result (~4.3GHz) but it ran a lot cooler even though it was running at same voltage. In addition to that, my overall hashrate went up by 10 for LTC mining, which is equivalent to having an additional core @ 4GHz.
