Wish it had higher resolution... hhhmm...

It's a toss-up...the higher-resolution stuff runs at 2560 x 1440, but at work, most people prefer the 1920 x 1080 because it's easier on their eyes due to the larger native font size. So you can get a Catleap Yamanski type of monitor off ebay for a few hundred bucks and get higher resolution, or save $100 or so and get something that gives you less eyestrain and native HD movie size. Also, Monoprice is supposed to be coming out with a hi-res 27" display this year:

The only thing that gives me pause on the AOC is the brightness is 250 - most monitors this size have 300 or 350, so I wonder if it looks dim or not.

It's good if you have simple needs, but they took a lot of shortcuts on this one. No DVI or DP connectivity, only 1080p (should have done at least 1920x1200), no VESA mount, not portrait viewable, no built-in USB hub. Should have a few of these features, or else bring the price down to $250 IMO.

My only real complaint is the lack of a VESA mount. That's pretty lame. I like the design a lot though.

And that's the thing. You're only real complaint is the lack of VESA, someone else's big complaint is 1080 instead of 1200, and another is no portrait view mode, etc.

It's not that everyone needs all these features, but you're limiting your audience quite a bit by not including them, because most people want/need one or two of them.
