Going to be throwing it in my NF7-S soon...anyone have any experience with this stepping?

AXMG2600FQQ4C
IQYHA0401UPMW

From the batch date, it seems to be a fairly new one.

I'll post my results once I get a chance to install it. I'm shooting for 2.3-2.4Ghz, air cooled, with a reasonable voltage.

:)

**Update 3/8** -

I've got it up and running Prime now. Here are some preliminary results..

2.2Ghz (11 x 200), 1.45v (default) - Pass 6 hours of Prime

2.3Ghz (11.5 x 200), 1.45v (default) - Pass everything but Prime, Prime errored out after ~5 hours
2.3Ghz (11.5 x 200), 1.50v - Pass 6 hours of Prime

2.4Ghz (12 x 200) , 1.50v - Pass all but Prime, Prime kicks out after ~2 hours

Currently:

2.4Ghz (12 x 200) , 1.55v - Pass 6 hours of Prime.

I'm going to let it burn in @ this speed overnight, then go for 2.5Ghz tomorrow.

**Update 3/9** -

2.4 Ghz (12 x 200), 1.55v - Passed overnight Prime 95

2.5 Ghz (12.5 x 200), 1.60v - Windows ok, Prime quits immediately

Currently:

2.5Ghz (12.5 x 200), 1.65v - Currently running Prime for about ~4 hours.

Screenshot @ 2.5Ghz

I just got my mobile athlon barton 2500+ and Abit AN7 mobo in the mail:
AXMH2500FQQ4C
IQYHA 0407VPMW

So cpu was fab'd in Feb 8th-14th. I placed the order on 2/27 with newegg.

Waiting for my Mushkin PC3500 ram to arrive (it's 10% off for anandtech users, look at the mushkin ad at the top of this forum page for the coupon code!!!)

Then I just gotta pick either Thermalright SP97 heatsink with 92mm fan, or Asetek Waterchill water cooling kit (or another brand), and I'll be ready to go :)

My 2600 came in the exact same steppings as insane.

My 2400 came in:

AXMH2400FQQ4C
AQYFA0343WPMW

NewEgg packed them inside a videobox(inside the fedex box), & they were floating around in there in their little clam shells. The 2600 had popped out, & has a scratch in the middle of it's pin side. Should I be worried. I can't test this thing for another week. Also, the 2400 was green & the 2600 was brown, any reason for concern. Sorry, intel is my usual was of doing things & I'm a little new to the amd thing.

Also, what type of ram are you recommending to get a decent amount out of this chip? HSF?

Thanks.

I got a refurb 2200+ from Newegg that came out of the clamshell during shipment and was DOA, but remember mine was a refurb, YMMV. IIRC Newegg's return window for new CPUs is longer than a week. The colors don't make a difference at all, they just use whatever's cheapest at the time.

Heh. I saw that too and thought it was a scratch, but it isn't. Look at it closely....it is supposed to be that way. For some reason they made that trace really stick out and look like a scratch.

2500 xp mobile is a best buy, it could overclock up to 3200+..... $92.00

Ummm...your point? I only paid like $10 more...for a chip that does almost 2.2Ghz @ 1.45v stock...

Holy s#!t! how high will it go with more voltage?

I'd have to also question this... $77 for the 2400+ and some are getting 2.5GHz on air, 2.5 is bit higher tha "3200+" or 2.2GHz @ 200MHz fsb. Saying any one of the chips is "best buy" is kind of absurd when they are all priced within $30 of each other. It's just depends on how much "insurance" you want and you pay for that so it all works out more often than not.

I haven't installed it yet...but it's stock speed is 2.13Ghz, 1.45v vs. 1.83 on the 2500+. I figured the $10 was well worth it...and I think I can swing it. ;)

my 2600 mobile is "1QYHA 0348SPMW", so i guess a month earlier than what you got. :\

anyways, it does 2.5 ghz@1.75v, overnite prime95 ok. Anything above that doesn't run, i tried as high as 1.85v.

i have a giant, generic all AL HS with a panaflo fan.

This cpu is f*cking insane. Almost always I have sh*t for luck for overclocking, but this was like taking candy. . . :D

2600 mobile (IQYHA0348)

The chip is a monster, but I have issues with heat.

right now 2400 (12x200)@ 1.65v rock stable 8 hrs so far prime95, but temperature can peak 57c - This is a mobile cpu, but I wonder if that is too hot...

This chip is *stable* at 1.65v 2500 (12.5x200) but it peaks at like 67c - spooky to me...

I guess I should get a better HSF if I want to play with higher voltage - and I thought I had a good one - can anyone rec something better?

Current set-up A7n8x-deluxe Rev 2.0, 1 gig cors 433 ddr (512x2), the HSF is Copper Silent 2M Artic-cooling (w/ artic silver)

If your cpu temp under load is less than 65C you are fine.

I think this chip is great, is is now stable at 12x200 (2400) at 1.60 Volts. (for 12 hours P95) Max Temp 51C

I would like to push it a bit, but am still worried about the temperatures - heh I'm not afraid of blowing the chip (have 2 extra barton 333 2500+'s around) , and the temp about 67 C didn't scare me to the point of turning the computer off, but I 'd like to tweak to the point where I feel comfortable leaving the computer on 24/7.

Although it is not generally an issue with overclocking, I like to keep the computer as quiet as possible, and for that reason I used the above HSF. I think if the fan's RPM were higher my numbers would be much better (currently ~3000 RPM & 26-28 CFM), and I was wondering if I should 1) change the fan on my current HSF, or buy a "Better" HSF with throttling ability and just turn it down if I get too bothered by the noise.

heh Or should I just be happy with 2400 at 1.60V 0.o

Broxa -

If you can swing it, I think your best bet would be to upgrade your whole HSF setup to get the best out of that chip with the least amount of noise. I would suggest you pick up a SLK947-U @ Sidewinder for $33.95, and pair it with a nice 92mm M1A Panaflo for $9.95.

That setup will be a considerable upgrade in cooling over what you have now, and will likely be a tad quiter than what you have now.

I think newegg is wrong on the stock clcok speed it should be about 1.9ghz or so they have the info from the Tbred mobile in thier. granted it might do 2.2 at that voltage but I doubt it.

Nope...it's 2.13Ghz. The 2600+ mobile I just installed ran 2.2Ghz @ 1.45v (default), 2.3Ghz @ 1.5v, and it's running now @ 2.4Ghz, 1.55v. This is with a Alpha 8045 and a low speed Coolermaster QLED fan...

Insane is right.

If you look at AMDs old 2600+ non-mobile 133mhz fsb part, you'll see they were clocked at 2.13ghz.

I have a 2600+ M as well and can confirm this.

Great chip man. ...you should hit 2700Mhz easily with that one @ 1.85-1.95... Higher does'nt give much if anything... Reasonable voltage..what's that? Try 1.65V (stock desktop barton) and I bet you'll hit 2500Mhz stable.

I think that will be a tall order. 2.5 GHz and 2.7 GHz are not exactly close. I am getting my 2500+ M as I wrote this. I am hoping for 2.5 GHz on one of my power boards, everything is ready, even Exos watercooling if it works well.

The benchmarks are fine but Barton at 2.7-2.75 GHz has about the same benchies as AThlon64 at 2.4 GHz. The key is bang for the buck of course. I jumped on every bandwaggon that was there, sometimes with a disappointments, hopefully not this time.
