With my current setup, my motherboard doesn't detect my processor in the bios (says unkown CPU). Is this suppose to happen? I flashed to the latest BIOS and everything but it's the same... thanks

I got the cpu to run at the correct speed, but it's just the name that's bothering me a bit...

I think it's normal. My NF7-S R2 will only recognize my 2500+ as a 2500+ or a 3200+. Even if I manually set it as a 3000+ plus it doesn't recognize it as such.

Another question for you: does windows recognize the chip? If so, as what? What speed do you have your chip set at?

it's normal for mobile cpus to be identified as "unknown cpu" in a desktop system, both in bios and in windows. just a little annoyance, but nothing you can do about it.
