2600 HD pro to replace my dying x700?

Well my Sapphire x700 128mb is dying. Only thing I got laying around is a hd2600 pro 512mb. I don't have money for a replacement right now and was wondering how much better or worse this is going to be.

2600 was designed for the same niche that the x700 was...only its two generations newer...yeah, definitely put it in.
