As posted in that thread, OpenCL is borked in released, numerous small bugs all around it. Control panel bugs, etc.

When are we gonna get new Windows XP drivers!?!

If you are running a GTX 460, I would recommend an upgrade to Windows 7, man!

These drivers fixed some issues I had with stuttering in SLI. There are some new control panel issues, but at the same time they fixed disappearing game profiles.

So far these drivers are good. Aero is performing fast and smooth.

All games seem as fast if not faster then before. Mass 2 UT3 Trackmania MW2 BF2
you say the exact same thing with every driver you install. for some reason you are obsessed with continuously getting new drivers even though they likely do nothing for you. heck I only change drivers once or twice a year and that's usually because of promised better performance with a new game.

On 480 SLI these drivers break Starcraft 2. In actual gameplay there is flickering all over the screen of dark/light sections. Could be related to SLI or just single card.

This happens with and without AA forced.

Steer clear of these if you play SC2.

You play those games on a 8800 GT at 2304 X 1440?

Trackmania maybe.

Last time I used an nvidia card was 2003 so I just wanted to ask, Do the SLI profiles come with the driver package or are they a separate install or is it both?

No, I use resolution of 1920x1200@85hz for gaming. But desktop is 2304x1440@80hz for over 10 years.

Also note I use NO AA , just 16x AF , and high detail , vsync on triple on etc..

There is only one game I can play at 2304 with this card and thats TF2 . Other games it runs but its slow much slower then 1920... thx,,

Driver removed by nvidia, multiple bugs in driver. Games locking up, etc.

DO NOT USE if you have 4xx series cards it WILL mess with clock freq. This driver has the "old" SC2 bug and will overheat some cards.

this is why I never install new drivers when they first get released. heck most of the time they break more crap then they ever fix.

This comes as a shock to me. Nvidia releasing bad drivers.

Have they apoligized?.....

Im sure its because Fermi is really complicated. Maybe too complicated even.

Only problem ive had is Dirt not working .... Dirt2 works. but Dirt doesnt. You should guess which i had first :)
Other than that, im happy with the drivers that came with my card!

Mafia 2 locks up in the beginning of chapter 2 movie in stereoscopic mode.
Nvidia needs to release newer driver ASAP to address new games issues.

They were beta drivers that weren't released by Nvidia?

I dont see why Nvidia should apologise about that, if they were released on Nvidias webpage then thats different.

Huh, was that the same excuse for the drivers Nvidia released that killed people's cards?

This is just ribbing for all the people here who act like Nvidia's drivers are prefect while AMD's were programmed by Satan himself.

When in fact both sides have issues with the drivers. Personally I usually wait a week or two before installing video drivers.

Wut? But the OP's 8800GT is rocking faster with them.

-Fair enough, they're beta drivers, but its not like their current set of WHQL drivers aren't causing problems for some of us (Starcraft 2 molasses mode for example).

Nvidia drivers are so talked up that I crossed over expecting a driver utopia and its already been anything but. ATI has some driver issues, but I only ever experienced quirks here and there nothing showstopping by a long shot.
