256MB vs. 512MB

A little while back I began thinking of upgrading my computer and now I have paid off everything else but I had everything figured out that I was going to buy, but my question is:
For about the same price as I planned to get 256MB for, now I can get 512MB but should I get the 512 or save the money and spend it on something else, say a GeForce3 or something else?

If you're using Windows 95, 98, or ME, don't bother. If you're using Win2k, definitely go for more memory.

Depends on what sort of application you run, you may not notice a performance increase going to 512mb from say 256mb.

I'm running 98SE right now but I plan to go to XP when it's released.
I don't plan on upgrading for quite a while after this either.

I run a lot of games and do some photoshop.

You won't be saving much money for the future, as cheap as memory is now 😉

I say, if your MB will support it, GO FOR 512mbs! Why not, it's SO cheap?

Get 512MB regardless of what OS you're using, because they're so cheap, makes no sense not to buy them.
