256MB PC133 SDRAM or wait for 128MB PC2100 DDR SDRAM?

yeah, I do know it will be incompatible. I'm building a new system and am trying to decide if I should wait for DDR motherboards, (I wish there would be a semi-definite time period for their release🙁), or buy an Asus A7V now and just get 256MB of PC133 SDRAM, because I have to buy new RAM either way.

ares32585, I'm in the same predicament. I already started getting the parts together for my computer I'm building in December/January... and with PC133mhz ram so low... I'm thinking about ditching the DDR I was going to go with. Is the Asus A7V motherboard the best mobo out for the Thunderbird as of now??? If I'm going to build the computer in December/January, do you recommend waiting until then to get the ram and motherboard or buying the ram now since it's so cheap?

One of the parts of the Asus A7V that I like is the fact that it has a Promise controller chip integrated, giving me another 2 IDE channels, which I need since I have more than 4 IDE devices. However, I think there's an Abit board that's also well-liked, but I can't remember the name.

<< Thats the Asus KT7, ares. >>

Erm...no...the KT7 is Abit's board with UDMA 100 Raid on it, provided by the Highpoint HPT370 chip.
The A7V is Asus's board with Promise UDMA 100 on it.

Well I just couldn't wait any longer. So I picked up a 256 mb dimm of PC133 SDRAM from Accessmicro. Around $150 bucks shipped...
