This high quality memory is rated pc133 @ cl3, but mine is running pc133 cl2 fine.

Crucial 256MB @ Staples

Price match here....Crucial 256MB @ Onvia

$169.26 - $40 coupon = a very nice price of $129.26 + tax. My total worker out to about $137 after taxes.

Don't forget Onvia has free shipping, but some staples CSR's will try to add next day air. Staples will NOT ship it this way. It is a special order item, so mine came UPS ground. Don't accept any extra shipping charges.

I'm thinking of buying 4 of these to make a 1 GB ram machine. Does anyone know a quality motherboard that will take 4 of these at 133mhz with Pentium?

dirkikus: My guess is that you'll have to look at server-class boards from the likes of Supermicro, Intel, or Tyan (three names that are generally considered to make good boards, from what I know). You'll likely pay out the @ss though. :)

Cool price. I don't need it, but for that price, who cares?? ;)

I did this deal a couple of weeks ago for my upcoming rig (present one won't take 256 DIMMS). It is 3-3-3. Haven't tested it yet to see if it will do CAS2.... but it is Crucial.

Which i815 chipset mobo would you recommend that would take 2 of these sticks (total of 512MB) of SDRAM that will allow me to do CL2 on these bad azzes? I want to build me a gaming/file server rig and feel that the best system setup right now is the i815 chipset. I have a Hercules Prophet II GTS 64 Geforce2 card and an Adaptec 29160 card that will be going into this!!! :)

I would recommend the Asus CUSL2 board. You can get a version with or without onboard video.

Better deal would be to use the two 25 off $75 coupons to make it about $119 :)

I'm using one stick of Crucial 133 256mb cas3 part # ct32m64s4d75 in a BH6 rev1.
It was not stable at 3-3-3, however, at 2-2-2 it is much better.Go figure. I've
been running it this way for about a week now without problems. The Crucial
memory finder does not recommend this stick for the BH6. I'm planning for an AMD
board.

I just spent an hour on the phone, only for them to come back to me and say the OnVia did not offer a warranty on their item, even though the item #'s are the same. Staples said they offer a lifetime warranty, even though it is not displayed on their web site.

Hey fatboy007,

Call up again and talk to another CSR and see if they'll take it. I ordered about 10 days ago, product in my hands now. Keep calling until you get a CSR that knows what's going on. When I ordered about 150 other people did, so you can use that as some ammo. Good luck.

Thanks for the help. I tried 3 different CSRs, but no luck. One CSR said that they couldn't get to Onvia... WTF?!

I ended up PM'ing at Egghead. They had it for $181. So after tax, I paid $150. :| Not great, but I'm impatient... ;)

Edit: I did receive the memory the next morning; next day delivery not bad.

I tried to do this deal earlier this evening. Called up and got some rude girl who I knew was going to give me problems. She called onvia come (had me on hold for 15 mins or so), then came back and said onvia was out of stock. Not believing her, I called onvia and they said they had plenty. So I called staples right back, got a different CSR who then called onvia and confirmed the stock. Got the deal to go through NP after that. Cost me about $138 and change, and they claim it will be here by next Tuesday. Note the wait for talking to an onvia phone rep was insane. I'd say 15-20 minutes at least. I'm guessing the first CSR did not feel like waiting on hold and said forget it.

i just got this deal went through earlier. the crs gave me all sort of run-around before i finally convinced him that it was legit. first he said that onvia offers some kind of add on warranty, and not the lifetime warranty that staples has for this memory. i told him that all crucial technology memory has a lifetime warranty, and told him to call crucal tech. he called and he told me that crucial doesnt recognize onvia.com as a reseller, and the manufacture part number, 102235, from onvia.com was invalid to crucial tech. he also mentioned that staples.com doesnt list the same manufacture part number as onvia.com. i told him to do a seach on their own site for that number, and tadaa the same item came up. and that put an end to that. his next run-around, he suggest that his boss with a lot of experience with onvia.com told him that onvia.com charges 25 dollars for next day shipping. i replied that onvia.com has free ground shipping, and onvia.com has a warehouse in california, where i'm at, so shipping ground would only take one day. there is no reason to go next day for 25 dollars more. and that was that. however, i believe that they couldnt attached another 25 dollars on my order for next day delivery because the item was to be special order, and it would take a week to be delivered. and finally, i told him i got a coupon also. he went hmmppffff, and said that he has to ask his boss because recently they changed their policy to not to include coupons with pricematching. all these time i remained calm, and told him sure. he came back and said okay, coupon is fine. my memory should get here on the 19th.)

I wouldn't mind a couple of these sticks but my "good nature" couldn't take the crap that "thai" received. I just think it might be a good idea to steer clear of Staples as a general rule.
