This deal is courtesy of caligula over at "large" wallet.... Circuit City seems to have a supply of PNY 256 ddr that is using the following chips.......SAMSUNG 229 K4H560838D-TCB3. This is true 2700 ram, not 2100 ram as shown here....

link

My computer recognizes it is as 2700, not 2100, so it is the real deal. I am running it at cas 2 and all agressive settings without a problem.

You should be able to pricematch Bestbuy's 39.99 after rebate price which starts tomorrow......

Good deal, but I don't understand the PM. Best Buy has Kingston on sale this week and PNY 256MB DDR is $99 online.

Sorry guys, the PNY 256 will be on sale for $39.99 after rebate starting tomorrow. I was looking at the wrong ad.....

Any idea if this stuff is single or double sided?
My p4b533 only has 4 lines for memory and a double sided (ram on both sides (16 chip)) takes up 2 lines. 🙁

can someone explain the PM, I didn't know CC PM to after rebate price.

don't they PM to b4 rebate price and don't they also count their own rebate b4 pm?

I need some ram, so this is the deal for me, just need to understand how it'd work

i'd like to know how too .... this is a killer deal coz i think i checked these out last week and they were single sided.

The price right now at Circuit city is $69.99 plus a $15 rebate. Tomorrow Best Buy will have it for $59.99 plus a $20 rebate.....Circuit City just adjusted the price of the ram by $15 to make up for the difference in price(their current after rebate price of $54.99 compared to Best Buy's price of $39.99). As always, YMMV..... They pricematched for me tonight just off the scan of tomorrow's Best Buy ad.

Also, this is single sided ram......

So if I understand you correctly:

The price at CC is:

$69.99

- $15.00 instant rebate to price match Best buy's price AR

- $15.00 CC MIR

= $39.99

So it's $54.99 out the door to buy it at CC right?

I thought I would reply back about this hot deal. I did go and find the ram and it running quiet happily at 415 mhz 2.5v in my computer. I was really sweating the thought of buying some Mega dollar Corsair ram so I could kick the bus speed up. Thanks for the tip it is greatly appreciated.

You are welcome....there still is some of this stuff out there because I picked up another stick at CC just a couple of days ago....🙂

Every time I go anywhere, I check the PNY (and other brand) sticks. Still haven't found any TCB3 in Knoxville, TN.

Doh!
