I have Win2000, and after afew problems with games, I'm beginning to question the quality of my Crucial DDR RAM. I took out one stick, leaving with only 1x256mb PC2100. But the Display in Control Panel shows I have 261,616KB RAM, which is 255.5MB. I tried another stick, and in the 2nd RAM slot as well. But no matter what I did, it showed up as 255.5MB, for both RAM sticks.
Also, in SiSoft Sandra 2001se, I cannot bench mark my DDR RAM if I uncheck "Use 1/2 Memory For Test Only" option. It would run for 15min and more. So I always end it in Task Manager, it would be marked as "not responding". Anyone has done a "successful" System Memory Benchmark with "1/2 Memory" unchecked? Did it end up "not responding"???
Is this normal? Are both of my RAM bad or something? or maybe it's the Epox 8K7A board??? This is getting on my nerves. Thanks.
