Hi, i have about $255.32(US) and i need to get a video card.

The card has to be a pci-express!!!!

I have thought about BFG's 6600 gt oc and up till now i dont see any other card worth the value as that card.

At future shop i can get the card for $169.36(US).

If i can i would like to get a card from BFG(cause they have really good cards, liftime warranty,...)

If any one has any thoughts please post back and tell me.

Thanks.

i'd say cough out another 50 dollars and get a 7800gt
think about it...a 6600gt and a 7800gt
it'd be like a difference of day and night
go for 7800gt...it's only 300

The 6600GT is powerful for its pricerange, I'll give you that. However, it only has 128mb of ram, and does lack when it comes to higher resolution.

X800GTO2 for $200 is about as good as it gets price/performance wise. But good luck finding one in stock.

Sapphire X800GTO is a good deal (great overclocker) and the GTO2 is even better (though more expensive and way harder to find).
edit: you sound like you're in Canada, so if you can't find a GTO, I'd say go for the 7800GT.

I doubt you will find one under $250. Either buy the 7800gt if your display can suport high resolutions, or definately buy the Connect3d PCIe X800GTO. This card overclocks almost as well as the GTO^2 and also unlocks. Its about $175 last time I checked. Good luck.

Can't possibly recommend that anyone go with the x800 GTO2 for $250+ because they aren't guaranteed to unlock and overclock and for just $40 more you can get the 7800 GT.

I agree. If you can hold off on your purchase for awhile, save up the extra $ and get a 7800GT.

3DFuzion 7800GT for $290 AR.

Otherwise the X800GTO^2 or Connect3D X800GTO is your best bet and unlock it.

1152 by 864, that will my setting.

I am gonna play games like Doom3, HL2, Need For Speed Underground 1 & 2, Diablo2(with the xpansion), Dawn Of War, Tribes Vengence, Unreal Tournament 2004, Quake 4, .... and a few more i can't think of them now.

I would like to play these games on high with everything enabled.

But if i have to i will turn down a setting or two, but i am not going to go play thouse games with like, '16 bit, everything on med to low.

Cause i have had it with graphics like that. :|

I was thinking of theBFG6600 gt oc PCI-E.

Do you think that card will suit my needs.

Or should i wait and try to save more money and then get a card, but the thing is i have been saying that from June last year, so when really is it gonna stop.

Can you help me.

And i am from Canada so i think New EGG is out cause they dont ship to Canada.

You will want at least a 6800, and at least an X800 . . . anything less and you won't be able to play the newer games with high settings at decent res . . . If you can find a X800GTO with an R480 core I would say go with that since they are under $200 and can usually overclock to 600/600 . . .

On the nvidia side, a 6800GT is good investment . . . at 1152 by 864, the 7800GT is kinda wasted (unless you plan on high AA/AF)
