btw, it wasnt formatted... anyone know how to format???

well there's a SuP3r 1337 PROGGIE out there called 'fdisk' butchu got be 1337 to learn where to download tha h4c|<3D version.
 
Just so you know, the only difference between a quick format and a long format is error checking.. A format does not do anything to the drive other than mark the area as "available"
 
Umm, good for you. I've had my 300GB drive for almost 2 years now. And may pick up a 500GB drive this Boxing Day.

Dude WhereTF have you been. I have a 250GB SATAII Hitachi 8.5ms access time one, and there have been 500GB ones out for a while.
