Hello,

I noticed, after 4-5 years with the stock cooler, playing cod black ops 3 my cpu temps hover around 90-95 degrees during gameplay and simple cutscenes.

Is this normal temps or should i be worried?

I never paid attention to cpu temps before. my 2500k has a slight overclock to 4.0ghz since day one.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

You should have an after market cooler if you overclock, but a good cleaning and new TIM would bring temps down some.

It probably won't throttle till around 100C, so not going to hurt it, but at least clean the fan & make sure airflow is good.

solid advice and im going to take it!

ill try to clean and reapply thermal paste this weekend and see my temps moving forward.

if there's no improvement i'll then look into getting an aftermarket cooler.

thanks!

Run Intel's XTU and see if your chip is thermal throttling under load. It has a stress tester.

You say you have your chip clocked at 4.0GHz... did you add any vCore voltage?
