2500+ trying to get to 3200+, need help...

Here's the scoop...

New retail 2500+ with retail heatsink/gunk, booted at 3200+ with default voltage.

Fought me on a windows install, but finally worked all the way through smooth once voltage was at 1.82.
Seemed ok for awhile until I closed the case up started actually working on it... then locked up.
The temp when I check in the bios was running pretty hot for idle IMO... about 115-120f.

So here's where I need the advice, (this is my first barton), what's the best heatsink/fan combo for this, and do you think it'll be stable then with good cooling?
Is it worth the shot, or just give up now?

Thanks!

Yeah it sounds like you have a "good chance" of being stable if you buy a good heatsink. The one I got is only $15 from newegg now. Coolermaster aero 7 lite. The 7+ is pure copper, but it's also pricier 😉
