Here's the scoop...

New retail 2500+ with retail heatsink/gunk, booted at 3200+ with default voltage.

Fought me on a windows install, but finally worked all the way through smooth once voltage was at 1.82.
Seemed ok for awhile until I closed the case up started actually working on it... then locked up.
The temp when I check in the bios was running pretty hot for idle IMO... about 115-120f.

So here's where I need the advice, (this is my first barton), what's the best heatsink/fan combo for this, and do you think it'll be stable then with good cooling?
Is it worth the shot, or just give up now?

Thanks!

Get a thermalright SK7/SLK-800/SLK-900 and you should be able to hit 3200+ speeds at 1.70v or so. Good luck!

Yeah it sounds like you have a "good chance" of being stable if you buy a good heatsink. The one I got is only $15 from newegg now. Coolermaster aero 7 lite. The 7+ is pure copper, but it's also pricier ;)
