2500+ to 3200+ troubles

okay ive tried just changing the FSB to 200, but windows wont boot. it'll post as 3200+ but windows is a no go...

what should i try? my memory is at 8-3-3, but on corsairs site it suggests 2-3-3-6.

im new to oc'ing so i though i should check in before i try anything else

You're running your memory at more relaxed timings, so that's fine as you're not pushing it.

Bump up your voltage, incrementally. Also, going to 3200+ from a 2500+ is not a for sure thing. There have been many who've successfully done it as well as many who successfully haven't. Search the boards if you're want to read up on success stories and debates about your chances of hitting 3200+.

well my main concern is my mobo in my shuttle. the sn45g v.2 is notorious for crapping out when played with the vdimm settings. so i dont really want to take any chances. i dont know what to do 😕

i orginally started out with a 3000+ because i wanted those speeds but many people suggested going with the 2500+ since its a sure thing and now im stuck with 1.8 ghz. i mean its ok for the money and everything is well, but still...
 
You shouldn't need to set your vDIMM as your memory is rated to run at PC3200 anyways.

Try bumping up your vCore to something like 1.85V to see if it helps. Try doing running tests like Prime95 to really push your CPU stability. If it seems all good, roll your voltage back incrementally. I wouldn't recommend running it constantly at 1.85V though.

What kind of CPU cooling to you have? That may be hampering your chances at a higher overclock.

yeah well cooling is another concern since i have a shuttle with the stock fan. my cpu doesnt have a fan on it. it cools through a heatpipe. my temps are between 50-55 idle/load. but there are plenty of sn45g owners at 3200
