First I have to give props where props are due. I had help from IvanAndreevich here on the boards that walked me through it. Told me what to do, what to look for, what programs to get, and I have to give a HUGE thanks for putting up with me for three hours!

Now I know there is alot of threads on this kind of cpu but this was my first attempt at it the right way and cannot believe we got my cpu to do, 2300mhz (now 2400) on a POS HSf. It is stable at that speed and doesnt get hotter then 45c according to Motherboard Monitor.
I have uploaded THIS picture for the non believers and I am sorry for the poor quality. If someone would host it if you just need to see it better please lmk.

Anyway Im super stoked on my $65 ebay investment. Got a score of 15101 on 3dmark2001 using my Asus A7N8X E-Deluxe rev 2, BBA 9800pro, and 512mb of PC2100. I havent done the video card yet. May have a buyer for it so I cannot right now. If the deal goes through I wil post the new score then as well.

Nice job! Congrats on your 1st OC.

I assume you are running a divider to get it to work with that pc2100 ram. After your vid card upgrade maybe you can go for some pc3200.

Enjoy,

Hey funboy,

I'm a newbie also and have the same Barton 2500+ set up and want to try to overclock mine.

Any chance that you can pass on the same "easy newbie" steps or info that got you through this first time so that I could try it also?

Thx

Sure Id be happy to! I also wanted to say I got it to 2400mhz yesterday but had to bump up the volts to 1.85 to get it there. It will probably max out my board Iat 12.5 if I bump it to 1.9 but Y? This one kicks butt anyway no sense in killing it. So I am running it right now and from now on at 3200+ speeds at default voltage (1.65) and prime95's without a hitch. I cant be happier having paid $65 for a chip that does a 3200+ that costs $150:D
Im keeping this one for awhile.
And yes I am running a devider. I traded my 21" monitor doe 512 of PC2700 kingston value ram. At 3200+ speed I beat my highest overclocked score by 300 points:D And I just added different ram. Going to max it again to see what score I get then. Has to be close to 16000 point then.

Just post your rig's specs. Start you own post though. You'll get plenty of detailed help.
