I've been debating on whether or not to upgrade my system. I currently have a 1.2ghz T-bird and have thought about upgrading to either a 2600+ or maybe the 2500+ barton. I'm not sure which would be more beneficial. The barton has more cache than the tbred but if I get the barton, I'd like to try to run it at the same speed as the 2600+, at least. The problem lies in the fact that I have an Asus A7V333 board. I have the bios flashed so that it will accept anything up to a 2800+ but I don't know that I would be able to raise the multiplier on the barton chip due to my board. I like this board and I really don't want to buy another board just to run a processor a couple of hundred mhz faster. I'm guessing that 12.5 would be as high as I would get without modding the cpu, and I'd really rather not do that. Does anybody have any input on this? Anybody using a barton on a A7V333 and overclocking? I have PC2700 ram(Samsung) so 166 should be no problem but I don't want to go higher since I have no pci/agp lock on this board. Thanks in advance!
