By doing what you've done, your CPU is a 3200+ Did you manage it on default vcore? Your's and mine are identical except I have week 13 and you have a week 17.

Yeha! did on defualt everything first time over clocker <---- you guys made me want to do it. I had problem before my time(clock) was messed up but it seemed ok. ran prime and it failed at 6 mins. went back to defualt settings and then restarted. Overclocked again to 200 fsb with out trying anything else ether. And I am still running prime 3 hours and counting. Onlything thats differnt this time is that my smart fan is on my slk800 now and my 3200 ram is @ SPD does this matter performance wise?? also my other post never got answered what is fsb specturm I tried seraching the forum and could not find anything on it.

Argh, I need a new m/b. Running my $136 2500+ at 12x166 because of my lousy KT400 chipset mobo is killing me!

The sour grapes syndrome forces me to say that I hate you all :disgust:

I'll be getting my 2500+ barton tomorrow from newegg along with an abit NF7-S and 1 gig of crosair pc3200! I'm preying that it's the same week and stepping as you got your hands on! Wow I'll be sooooo happy. Then again I just bought $2500 worth of comp parts for a graduation gift... so I'm happy no matter what. And the canon i950 and the samsung 191T just came today... so i'm now looking at a new LCD! wahoo!

GooGooCluster, Sweet! Try going for 2.3ghz later 11.5x200 because that's what my week 13 does on default, it feels like they sent a :gift: doesn't it?

Wuzup101, Most of the 2500+'s coming from Newegg are week 13 or later now and are getting 3200+ speed on close to default vcore, where did you order from?

FSB Spread Spectrum is a method to deal with (E)lectro(m)agnetic (I)nterference (EMI). I don't know exactly what it does to fix the problem of EMI, but I do know that if your system is stable, turn that b1tch off!

Nice OC BTW!

It varies the clock frequency (speed) of the CPU by a little bit... but when you're overclocking, and on the edge of stability, that slight variance may be enough to cause it to lock up, or reboot for no apparent reason. Disable it.
where did u get it from? anyway, it will actually perform better than the 3200+ because of the increased FSB
He's got his FSB at 200 just like the XP3200... so they're exactly the same.

I got my 2500+ retail from newegg on monday along with a vantec aeroflow. Stepping is AQXEA0319 (forget the rest, i'll have to check when i get home).

I'm currently running at 11 x 200 on an A7N8X (revision 1) as well, at default voltage. I ran prime95 for 8 hours last night and no errors. Temps are 37C idle 43C load. Hoping to try 11.5 x 200 tonight. This is my first overclocking experience and it has been pretty painless so far. I love this CPU!

if it fails prime, it's not completely stable. tone it down

does increasing the multiplier affect stability at all? I have my 2500 running at 200X11 at 1.7 volts on a NF7-S v.2. I want to try to go higher but i don't want to increase the voltage until i get 1 or 2 more fans.

It certainly does. Increasing the multiplier increases the clockspeed of the processor, thus making it work harder. Now, you can try upping the multiplier without upping the voltage and see what happens. Bear in mind that your motherboard undervolts, so take that into account.

12 x 200 was not stable at 1.750 so I did not bother with that and tried 11x 202 that whould not do much ether for prime I will have to try 11.5 x 200 some other time. how far can xms3200LLPT be pushed with out upping the voltage? is it bad to run memory at 2.7 instead of 2.6??? also any suggestions for an fsb mutliplyer combo?
