250 watt PS for my pvr?

I will be ussing a amd xp 1.5 and a ati AIW 9800.


Im wondering if my old PS will do?

like lobadobadingdong said, as long as you have a quality psu, it'll be fine. if its generic, at least a 300W psu is recommended.

You'll need a higher rated power supply just for the video card. I use a sparkle 300w with 12cm side fan ($28 newegg) and it's very quiet, and helps cool the cpu. If you have a small micro atx case, you'll have to go with a micro atx power supply.

Thats not really true... People with quality 250watters put 6800 GT's in their Shuttle cases.

Why risk it. You could have stability problems now or later running your ps at capacity. For $28, the sparkle 300w is a bargain. I got it to help cool my cpu in an old desktop case. It was overheating with an enlight 360 watt power supply that just didn't push enough air around the cpu.
