$250 to spend on a AGP video card......any recommendations???

I'm in the process of building a new computer. So far I'm pretty set on an Asus A8V with Athlon 3000+. This board doesn't have PCI express so I need an AGP card. I want to be able to play Doom 3 and HL3 well at least at 1024x768. I also need a card with DVI output. Thanks!

I have one of these. Excellent Card runs nice and cool.

Quiet as a mouse.

If you shop around a bit, you might be able to find it cheaper.

Your CPU/mobo is a good match for this card.

Plays Doom3 and HL2 EASILY at 1024x768. You go higher as well.

This guy is selling this exact card used for 250

Seems to have good heat as well.

That card is $269, not $250

Ah $270 is close enough to $250 for me. Looks like that card has a lot of good reviews. I've never had experience with Leadtek before. Do they make a good product?

for $20.00 more it's a better card than any card you could buy for $250.00 and worth the small difference. At one point I saw a BFG 6800 OC on sale for $200.00 :Q

I gotta second the 6800nu recommendation. Best money I ever spent. I got in on one of the PNY 6800 sales for $230 with a $30 rebate. After tax and shipping it was $254 and if I feel like it I can send in $30 rebate form.

Can also check over on FS/FT forums. There is probably someone selling one over there for under $250.

I would wait a bit and see if BB has their 6800nu on sale for $220 with farcry and HL2 again...that was a steal...

If you want to save more money though the 6600GT is still a pretty nice card.
