Depends on what else you're using, lots of devices need lots of power. Also depends on your plans and means.
Having said that, generic psu's are a crapshoot- some are good quality, some are junk, hard to tell without being very familiar with the source/batch.
Go to computer123.com, search for Enermax, the 250w model is the best deal I know of on a brand name unit. That's if you decide to just replace your blown unit. Somebody else may offer a better deal..
i can get an Enermax 330 watt for 85$ CAN but the 250 watt no name ones are only 35$
my old 230 watt psu blew up as soon as i plugged my p3 700 in so i'm trying to avoid the same situation
i'll take a look at the Enermax 250 watt, thanx guys
i'm looking for an Enermax 250 watt psu (money being the big issue) but it just seems that no one is selling them
and the ones that do dont ship up north
Get the 250w. I have a celeron2@1054, 2 5400rpm hdrives, 2 80mm fans, 1 arctic cooler, 1 slot cooler, 1 Intel fan, 1 cdrom, 1 cd-rw, all running off 250watt PS.
go with the 250 if you are short on cash I have used these before for athlon systems 1 gig and such with ata cards and many fans. Dont worry. But if you want to shell out a couple more bucks it might be worth it. 40 bucks can get you a ANTEC 303x 300 ps which is highly effective. this is the same powersupply that the antec sx830 uses ;}
