If you look at the link at magellan's site it looks like you must make the purchase between 5/27 and 6/30.. BUT if you look at the rebate at the site it applies from 1/1 to 6/30. Wonder if we could get some clarification on that..

Ordered one for in-store pickup. It says 3-5 days delivery....

Not a bad deal at all if I can sell my old laptop serial GPS and Delorme Software... (if I can find it) I might be able to recover $50 of it. It'll be cool since I'm driving on a major trip from TN to ME this summer. I gotta know where to eat and sleep for cheap! Does anyone have this already? Is it pretty nice?

Ordered last Sunday for in Store pick up. No E-mail yet to come and get it.

I will still use my laptop for cross country treks since its not a problem for a long trip.
It's the daily commuting and lugging the laptop locally that the Magellan will prove handy.

My problem is that my current laptop just doesn't have the battery power and it's a power hog that has a 90 watt power supply rather than the average 70 watt Dell power supplies...makes it hard to utilize a power inverter...plus being able to see the screen is always an issue with glare, etc... Hopefully this will take care of my needs and provide me a decent interface.

Their free promotion for the SD cards seems to be pretty dead. Trying to get the free card from the site results in the website stating that all of the cards have "just run out". So I don't know if that means they plan on offering anymore or what. I'll probably call them tomorrow to see what I can do. I just picked up the unit from Sears today. It looks pretty solid though it doesn't have any specific street data in it yet...I'm still trying to get the software to load so I can send it the data.

You can call this number and they'll set you up with the sd card, just explain that the site said it was out of stock. It worked for me. The sd card deal is good until June 2006.

I signed up for email notification when the RM300 went OOS last week. I got this response from Sears on Monday "Unfortunately, the GPS RoadMate 300, null 05730155000, has been discontinued and is no longer available. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you."

Call the number and explain things. I'm not sure if there sending me the chip offered or the newer one(many more states covered). They'll send you one. I regestered mine when it was out of stock, and emailed them . They gave me the support number, I called and told them what was going on, they got my info, and they said it would be shipped.

EDIT: This was about the sd card, not sure if the deal's still good.

Yeah...from the looks of it, the ones they shipped out a few weeks ago were the closeout. The next model up is the 360 that comes preloaded with maps of the US...the 300 has basic maps of highways and interstates, but for detailed data, you have to select the individual regions and copy the data to the device via the software..... I'm going to see about getting a SD card from them for free and maybe even get a 512mb or gig card and just load the whole US from the cds that come with it....the 300 and 360 look identical.

Worked like a charm...she said they have most of them in stock....it's just that they don't have a real time inventory system.
