$250-$300 LCD Options

I'm probably going to get an LCD for christmas, and i was thinking 20.1", between $250 and $300. I'm trying to decide between some options like the Sceptre X20G, Sceptre X20WC, BenQFP202W, and Samsung 205BW, or a dell 2007WFP with the ebay coupon. It will be used with my laptop, just as an extended workspace and for gaming, and will eventually be used with vista after i build my desktop. thanks for any suggestions.

If you like the image offered by a "glossly" screen, such as your laptop, I would recommend the Acer AL2032WA. I am currently using one daily for CAD, Excel, Internet and gaming, and I love it. It's the best glossly finish LCD you can buy for under $400, second only to the much more expensive NEC. It uses a S-IPS panel as well, so colors are quite nice IMHO. Bit-Tech did a review here.

thanks for the suggestions. i just looked on acer's site, and it looks like the only crystalbrite screen they are selling atm is the ferrari, which i can't find a price for, but is probably pretty high...i noticed there is a new sceptre on newegg also, the X20WG, and it looks like the only diff between that and the 20G is and improved contrast ratio, 1000:1 vs 800:1. new one is also 5ms GTG.

edit: newegg doesn't have the 2032 or the F20, but bestbuy does...ironically, the F20 is $399 and the 2032 is $429.99. little out of my price range, but i'm sure its a great display.

The Dell 2007WFP is the highest quality panel of them all (the rest use TNs except the X20G which has a leaky backlight).

Are you sure you don't want to wait till Xmas to decide once new models are out?

I don't know...we will just have to see. Monitor rumors don't go around as much like the GPU ones do. We may see LCDs with bigger color gamuts.
