Looks like a GTA copy kind of. Like the "Culdesac" area is exactly like the end of Grove Street in San Andreas.

Listen. It's just a game. There are certain people who will just know that. Then there are others who think it's reality and should be removed from teh gene pool.

You show 1,000,000 people a violent game, and you may get a few psychos that go on a rampage. Are these people really going to be perfectly normal if never introduced to a game? Please, if a game can set them off or give them ideas, they would have likely been influenced any other way. So what are we going to do? Ban every piece of entertainment? Ban language? Ban the ability to see? To move? There's nothing that can prevent some things, these psychotics just need to be weeded out, hopefully they don't hurt anyone else on the way to death.

can I kill pigeons too?!

People are retarded, there are so many other things besides video games.

I think we should start killing people. Yeah, not in any HUMANE way. Make people afraid to commit crimes. Show them pain does exist in other places other than butts. If we didn't tolerate sht or if we were a REAL society full of smart people and not people that actually believe the crap that shows on television, maybe we would realize, that sometimes we need to kill people to get our point across.

The most controlling thing is fear of pain. If that is abolished, then the person doesn't care and does whatever the person wants. Like my bro. He was being a btch. He's like "your punches don't hurt" - being the smart ass that he is. I just gave him one punch. And he went to his room and was never a bitch like that again. He needs to learn not to fck with me, that I'm not mom. And that's what happened.

Same principle.

this topic just reminded me of a quote from bash..

<xterm> The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

My brother is a cop and he loves his job very much. But whenever he plays GTA:SA, he pretends hes the bad guy. He will beat up old women until the cops come, and then beat them up and steal their vehicles. He NEVER does a single mission. He just drives around the city beating the cops up until he dies and then does it all over again. It's pretty funny to watch because he gives the character a lot of personality compared to when I play and I just truck through all the missions.

That's a good one.

Ya know I remember playing Manhunt. Now THAT was just a dirty game. Fun as hell, but just brutally violent. I don't remember it getting all the attention for being horrible even though it was R* that did it, and it was worse than GTA:VC that had just came out. Maybe my opinion.

how old are all you guys that are posting? I'm 21, iand i know personally that a violent game wouldn't affect me (in the real world). But i don't know if i would want my nephew playing that crap yet. I don't know, i mean i had street fighter when i was 8 and i turned out ok. I think, at the very least, games should have ratings just like movies. I know they do now, i'm just saying i think it is a good idea. Banning games entirely is probably silly though.

IIRC Manhunt did get a decent ammount of attention. And yea, I own a copy of the game and never made it past something like level 3 because of how brutal it was.

Yes, there are limits to age. I'm 18, and my 11 year old brother plays GTA:SA relentlessly. I don't really like the language he hears or how much fun he gets hijacking a bus and driving it into people. But I don't think it's affecting him long term. I think he's mature enough to know it's a game and that he shouldn't/can't do that in real life.

If we never expose our kids to this type of stuff (R rated movies, mature games, etc), when they actually do see mature content, or hear a bad word, they won't know what to think. Why? Because no one ever showed it to them, so they won't know that it is wrong. My dad took me to a Stone Temple Pilots concert when I was in the third grade. He would point out the smell of pot and explain to me what it is, and why I shouldn't use it. There will people saying "F*ck this!", ect. Instead of him covering my ears, my dad explained to me what the word was and that it was bad. I think if we stop sheltering our kids so much and actually expose them to certain content, that we will hear less about kids doing drugs or people having ramapages at their schools, etc.

I played it a little, the idea of sneaking up behind someone and suffocating them with a grocery bag just didn't seem like "fun" to me

perhaps, handles that way. Im more concerned of the parents who get their only spoiled child whatever he/she wants. A family i now has a 9 year old boy. he told them he wasnted GTA SA, they got it for him without even knowing what it was about.
