Just received this offer from Microsoft.

Offer good until August 31 2001.
Use promotion code W2KSEM to get 25 % off.

(You might have to be an NT 4 MCSE as the offer is geared towards current NT 4.0 MCSE's.
It does not specify.
But it?s worth a try.
Good luck on your tests

thanks, I logged into my account and tested to see if that code would work, and it worked. I am not a previous NT4 MCSE either.

One note I would like to make for those of you who have not spent all of the money for tests:

According to a study done by CMP Publications, Internet Week, they found that certifications have actually become counter productive to promotion and hiring in the IT field. I was surprised when I read the headline, but after reading the story I had to agree.

Before you flame me, read the story and form your own opinions.

Please, don't flame me!!!

It is in thier print magazine. I will look for the article online and see if it is there. If I find it I will post a link.

I am not saying that the credential has no value, and they didn't conclude that. What the point of the article was is that a certification does not bring value to the table anymore. Experience and skills are what gets looked at.

They also found that people with certifications did not get promotions as fast as real world experience staff members did. I ask the question: Does this mean that the people in thier survey spent time away from work to get thier certifications and the others stayed at work and won the respect of the boss? Just a thought?

I have to say thanks a ton. This will save me $25 in the near future and I have taken several MS exams.
I currently have taken and passed:
70-029 Design & Implementing SQL Server 7
70-057 Site Server 3.0 Commerce Edition
70-187 IIS 4.0
70-152 Interdev 6.0

I am taking the following exams in the next month:
70-176 VB 6.0 Desktop
70-175 VB 6.0 Distributed
70-100 Sol. Architectures

I have seen some compensation due to my certs, but I need the MCSD to get more. :)
Good luck to all.

Also, you can reschedule the exam up to the day before, but when you use a coupon or promotion you can not change the exam that you have paid for. Thought someone might want to know.
