jesus. i was less tired after running 3 miles in hills. butterfly is ridiculously intense. if anyone swims that stroke competitively, i have deep respect.

I used te swim Butterfly a bit in HS ... I was never any good at it as my kick is kinda weak. Freestyle on the other hand ... I could go 6 or 7 thousand yards and still not be too tired or exhausted to work after school ... and then do homework and then wake up and lift weghts ... ahh well that was several years ago.

there isn't, but it's used synonymously with crawstroke since everybody uses crawlstroke for it anyways

thanks :)
I race it on occasion, though i agree it is probably the most tiring stroke.

and in response to the 'freestyle' comment.
freestyle means anything, just happens to be that front crawl is the fastest, so if you're racing you might as well do the fastest stroke right? Get what I'm saying?

Speaking of swimming the other day I was eating dinner with the guy who lives in the apartment next to me, who happens to be on the UC Berkeley's men swimming team. One of his friend's walks in the room and he introduces him 'This is my friend Tony .... by the way he won a Gold in Sydney in swimming" ... my jaw dropped. The guy I was eating with (who lives in my apartment complex) happened to be an alternate for the team. It's just amazing to me that these guys can push there bodies to such incredible extremes. I don't know, I was pretty impressed that I was in the same room with someone who was the BEST in the world at swimming the 50M freestyle.
