25 min for SETI WU?

gcy

Senior member
just finished a seti wu and it took 25 mins. it usaully take 7-8 hrs on an t-bird 1000mhz. anybody got any idea? 😕

The WU most likely had high RFI (eg., a big spike or alot of noise). The SETI result file is set to be a specific size. If the amount of data (spikes, triplets, gaussians, etc) written to it makes the file bigger, it'll automatically abort the analysis and upload the result. You still get credit for the work though.

If you get more than a few of them it means that your machine is overclocked too far, and isn't running correctly.

BTW, I don't recognize your name. 😱 Are you on Team AnandTech?
