I have 25 K6-2 500's and a few other pc's running RC5. I get about 6-7 thousand keys a day is this good or bad? have any idea's on how to get more keys. yes i have nothing else running and most of these computers dont get used at all (its nice having a training room at work that doesnt get used much 🙂)...

Just to be a stickler...

Those K6 machines would be mucho more efficient at OGR... But whatever floats your boat!

It's great to have 25 K6-2's running Rc5. But I agree with JHutch that they would be much better at OGR. Check out the speed calculator to see how much more efficient K6-2's are at OGR. Also as JHutch said "whatever floats your boat" so if you'd rather keep doing Rc5 that's great as well.🙂

BTW you are cracking for Team AnandTech aren't you?🙂

If you crack for TA, keep them on rc5. We have to get back first place and all help is needed and welcome. If you crack for the DPC, by all means switch to OGR.

keys/mhz & knodes/mhz
K6-2................................1.7 Rc5 blocks.......6.6 OGR stubs
PPro, P2, P3, Celeron, etc.....2.8 Rc5 blocks.......6.9 OGR stubs
Athlon TBird/Duron................3.4 Rc5 blocks.......8.1 OGR stubs

As you can see the K6-2 is much more effecient at OGR.🙂

Nato,

Despite what some folks might say, it's a generally accepted fact around here that doing RC5 on a K6 of any flavor is almost a waste of a good processor. They will put out a respectable amount of output in RC5, don't get me wrong, but they would totally rock the world of OGR! 😉

Still, I'm a firm believer is letting the individual choose the effort that they like the best so in ANY capacity, welcome to the team!! 🙂
