I switched to MCI for the $150 Amazon GC (IMHO, best deal of the year.) Now I want to switch back to ATT, but $25 GC isn't really enough. I am looking for a better promo. It doesn't even have to be ATT, just a different long distance carrier from MCI.

i guess it's already been discussed -- but.. can they do anything to you if you keep switching to take advantage of their promos?? is there a certain amount of time you need to stay hooked up w/them?

I think in a few weeks at&t will come ouyt with a better promo. I switched with them in '97 and they gave me $100 CASH.

Check if there is a commitment. I know the MCI one didn't have one, just switched to the AT&T $50 Amazon GC by etrade (been discussed, do a search before you ask). And will do the $50 BlockBuster GC (also been discussed, I received it in the mail though) when I get the AT&T GC. This may be good after that though.

yah, been doing this for a while now.

if you switch over to MCI, within a couple of weeks, you will get a letter in the mail (i always do at least) from AT&T with a $40 check if you switch over to AT&T. then if you switch over, MCI will call back a week later (like they called me again two nights ago) offering $50 in long distance to switch to MCI. i tell them "but AT&T offered me a check, i would not like free long distance, i want a check" and they say "no problem, we'll give you a $50 check and another $5 check to cover the switching fee"

AT&T doesn't cover the switch fee, so you have to absorb that $5 yourself. but once you (i don't know how i got so lucky to, only been here 6 months and not done anything pro-active to cause this to happen) get on their lists, you can keep bouncing back and forth and making money on long distance to help pay for those damned PacBell or TimeWarner bills :p

enjoy,
Shang

i've done searches on "AT&T Amazon" and "AT&T" and "Amazon" and even plain "AT" and i cannot find mention of this AT&T $50 Amazon GC by etrade you make mention of. i hate to ask, but my searching isn't doing so hot... :/

Stockback is offering $50 to switch to MCI. www.stockback.com I've never used it, but I'm tempted, and I'll probally do it as soon as I can find a new no commitment carrier to sign on with.
