Mmmmm Bell's Expedition Stout made the list...that is DAMN good stout...black as used motor oil but creamy and goes does fairly smooth for the amount of alcohol in it...

And Dogfish 60 minute IPA is just yummy!

Living in Ohio, the Great Lakes brews are available just about everywhere. Most of the others though, I've never seen locally. Americans know how to make a good beer.

No way...I had #15 just 2 weeks ago and was blown away...I don't know if I can buy it bottled in MI, but the restaurant/bar (Slow's BBQ in Corktown) has an amaaaazing beer selection. Glad to see that I'm not the only one that thinks it's good. :)

I'm sure the rest of the list is excellent if these fine beers were included.

That list sucks.. I'm not going to complain because beer x wasn't included, I know you can't fit them all on there.. but Alaskan Amber? Full Sail? Good beers but mid-level micros. I can think of a ton of a replacements, including just about everything from Deschutes, Anchor, and La Conner. Overall it misrepresents the Northwest, where the best beers in America--dare I say the world-- are brewed.

Yes I've been to Germany and Belgium and I still make that statement. Belgian's tripels are just about impossible to beat but the American variety may overcome that.

Pretty poor list IMO. Many of the clearly recognized best brews in America, such as Three Floyd's Darklord, Founder's Kentucky Breakfast Stout, Goose Island's IPA don't make the list, when there's little doubt they beat the piss out of the likes of almost every beer on the list.

As far as Great Lakes goes, while Burning River definitely deserves its spot, there's no doubt in my mind Blackout deserves to be well above Holy Moses (which is decent). Its too bad CP went year-round instead of Blackout IMO.

You realize that people have different taste buds right? So getting the list to be perfect for everyone is impossible. That being said, I haven't tried any of these. I guess I can probably find most of them online. OP should edit the post to point to websites to the beers that are purchasable online. Just a thought.

I agree with:

2 Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA - Milton, DE

10 Bell's Expedition Stout - Comstock, MI

15 Ommegang Hennepin - Cooperstown, NY

Most of the others are good, but not 25 top quality....

What about St. Bernardus abt 12, Two hearted Ale, Avery's Hog Heaven and all the other great beers that would make some of those tasted like tap water.

get that samuel adams BS off of that list

Have you tried the Black Lager? It's damn good.

i did, and it was dissappointing. As the Men's Journal describe accurately, it wasn't heavy at all, in fact, it was way too light for my taste.

also, Firestone's Walker Pale Ale is just okay, I like their Double Barrel one more.

what I would agree on the list is, Alaskan Amber and Alesmith Speedway Stout. The last one is like Guiness Concentrate.

Bernadus is not American.
