25 baseball rule suggestions

Interesting. 🙂 I really like:

2 - Batters should stay in the box more
3 - Limit coaching visits to the mound
5 - Ban the fake-to-third, throw-to-first move
8 - Make relievers face minimum of 2 batters
9 - Limit Sept. roster expansion
14 - No pinch-runners
16 - Ban all body armor
18 - Enforce the batter's box
5 - Ban thunder stix

He forgot the most devistating.

26-Enforce the stike zone..... shoulder to knee style over the plate like the old timers had to face. Now the strike zone is very small and the batter stats show it. But I guess HR's sell tickets.

What's the reasoning behind No Body Armor? If I was standing in front of a guy tossing a ball at me at 100MPH, I wouldn't mind having some armor 🙂

I'd also add shorten the freaking season. I'm tired of baseball after the first 2 weeks!

I like the 'no body armor' suggestion...it'll make Barry Bonds worry about getting hit just like everybody else if you stick your body into the strike zone.

So BB can't crowd the plate with impunity diminishing the strike zone even further.

Personally, I thought the idea to make the All-Star game determine home field advantage for the World Series was a pretty good idea by the commish.

Why has it taken so much flak?

It's because certain players ***cough**BarryBonds**cough*** drape themselves all over the plate knowing that the pitcher can't throw a ball outside that they can't reach or inside that might hit the armor and give them a free base. If you want to crowd the plate, you should have to face the consequences of your actions.

27- starting a fight is an automatic 15 games suspension or Nolan Ryan gets to kick your ass🙂

Enforce the stike zone.
Raising the pitcher's mound by a few inches would also help, as would building stadiums larger than a breadbox.

I'm with you on that. I'd prefer 82 games, but of course that'll never happen.

The only one I really like is "No body armor"

but I've got an idea...

if you do use body armor, no free base on a bean ball 😛

Cuz it's a dumb idea. 🙂

My feelings on Barry Bonds: one of these days he's going to get major-beaned with something somewhere he isn't protected. Ha.

One thing that makes baseball interesting for me is all of the stupid rules. It's fun trying to watch everybody come close to following the rules while still trying to bend things to suit themselves. It doesn't make any sense, but so what?
