That's why I don't do a lot of sensitive stuff on my phone. No banking apps, no Paypal, no using my phone to pay at registers, etc.

"Old school" here. Browsing the web, texting, and phone calls. ;)

I tend to agree - I avoid doing more sensitive payment related stuff on phones. Apps if they are up to date and you use a VPN then it would be better I think....

Those are garbage phones that probably had very little R&D let alone security checks. Not surprised one bit.

Hmmm…I might have to rethink my plans for buying a phone with an out of date OS from an OEM with a poor track record of updates. ;)

I use my phone for calls, podcasts, texting and pictures. Everything else is done on my PC. This notion that mobile devices can act as a replacement for a secure computer is foolishness.

Secure folder on Samsung phones solves that. Stick all your important stuff in the secure folder with a VPN connection and it sandboxes all your stuff.

Some of the phones on the list are not garbage like ZTE and are popular models from legit brands - Vivo V7, Oppo F5, Nokia 6, Xperia L1, LG G6.

Agreed. however, not sure if banks do- my bank (capital one) now does not allow me to do certain banking functions on any PC, but only through their phone banking app. for example, online check depositing. won't allow on pcs, but will allow on my phone.
