will the video quality degrade if I use long cable ?
btw, anyone know where can I find one cheap ?

HERE is another place to get them for a great price. Here is an answer straight from the company's homepage about length of the cable:
Please Note: The maximum industry recommended length for s-video cables is 35'. It is similar to video; the further you go the more ghosting may appear. Most of our customers have had no problems. Your mileage may vary.

I used a coupler to connect two 25' sections (50ft total) from PC to 53" Sony, for DVD playback.
Didn't notice any degradation of signal. Worked fine.

But then I switched to X10 DVD Anywhere, 2.4GHz wireless system (about $50 after coupon).
Even though the X10 uses composite video, it is by far the best long distance solution.
Coupled that with Logitech Cordless Desktop, and you are set.

Here at work we have a 4 head Matrox G200 card connected to 3x21 inch monitors with a 50ft cable with no problems. As long as you don't twist it to much you'll be fine.
