24x CDRW as permanent as 12X???

I am looking at upgrading my 12x Lite-on CDRW with a 24X Lite-on CDRW. I would like to spend the $100 or so to save 3 minutes a CD (even though I only burn a dz a month).

Anyway -- is a 24x burned CD as "permanent" as a 12X burned CD? Is there any advantages to burning slower??

Assuming both burns are 100% accurate to start with there should be no difference in the finished products.
