24x cd-r what is the future?

I saw at buy.com selling a TDK 24x/10x/40x cd writer.
now 24x kick asssss.

and is less than $300, expensive but remember the 1x costed $1k when it came out.

but they are gone really.
Next year when dvd burner prices goes down, and spedd up cd-r will be history.

Can' wait next year really.

Who really cares? To create a 800MB CD in about 3 minutes. The best idea is "burn-proof" so you can do something else while copying. And you will pay a PREMIUM for the media to copy at 24x.

I think it will all be passe when DVD-R becomes popular. Now to copy a 4 or 5 GB DVD in less than 10 minutes, THAT will be a technological wonder.

I personally think anything over a 12/10/32 is major overkill. If you can't wait 6 minutes to burn a CD-R ...

actually i personally think its offending that we have to wait for computers ever.
The fact of the matter is people just settle and say "hey its okay, its improved since before!"

course, i know we won't have to wait one day. :)
