24v crestnet power supply

I'm looking to implement a crestron 24v supply to power a car stereo. Assuming I am only using the car stereo as a source and will not be using the amplifier section I'm wondering how many amps the it will draw? Is this even possible?

Well first a car stereo is 12volts. 24volts would likely fry the radio. Also the current draw varies from radio to radio so with no idea what radio you want to run, I can't give you an accurate number. I used to test car radios with a 12volt supply that I fused to 10 amps.

It would be a 40 watt per channel total of 4 channels alpine head unit. I would be completely bypassing the amplified section and simply using the preout capability to feed the crestron with signal. In my application I don't want to have a huge step down transformer next to the alpine. I would like a neat install. Would the alpine draw more current if there are no speakers connected to its amplified section? I would think no. But here I am asking questions! Thanks for the reply. I appreciate the help.

crestron?

feeding it with signal?

24 V for car audio?

step down transformer? for DC voltage?

Provide details! model numbers. Pictures even.

The alpine is going to expect 12vdc not 24vdc. Not using the amplifiers will drop the current needs but it is difficult to even guess to what since we don't know which head unit you are talking about. What is the head units fused amperage?
