What about ES do you want/need?

And as an aside, I recall pointing out how poor even fundamental/basic stuff like this is on Android still and people dismissed it with the "you can just use 3rd party apps, so much better as you can have it tailored to what you want" and ignored me (or would use the pointless "its better than Apple!") when I said that relying on smaller 3rd party developers is a recipe for security disasters and other problems.
 
I use GhostCommander, and you can review the source code yourself. It does what I need. Dunno if it does what you need.
 
Without knowing what functionality you're looking for specifically, Solid Explorer is the file explorer I've seen suggested the most. I'm old school and still use the very first file explorer I ever tried for Android that still meets my admittedly basic needs, Root Explorer.
 
You don't seem to understand where the problem with ES's distrust came from. I'm on mobile so can't copy a write up but yea, es spyware was unrefuited. Go with solid, I did.
