Hey all,
Going to be upgrading to a new monitor soon, probably the Dell 2407WFP 24" - looks like a beauty.
I've only gotten to use one of these a bit (not the 24", but a Dell LCD), but I have a question. (And it may be relevant, so OS will likely be Vista 64-bit; also will have an nVidia SLI configuration).
When playing with the thing, I noticed that if you launched a program that displays full screen in a 4:3 aspect ratio (say, 800x600 or 1024x768 resolution), it would stretch it to fill the screen. Preserving proper aspect ratio is a pet peeve of mine, so I actually want applications like that to display zoomed to the size of my display but with black bars. Is this possible?
I found a way to do this in the menu, but you had to access the monitor menu every time you wanted to do this with every signal change. I want it to automatically do this with this type of content.
I also found a way to display native resolutions, but this seemed to make apps like this display smaller than the screen - again, not what I really want.
Thanks in advance for any feedback about this!
