2407FPW LCD Need some help with Watching DVD's etc

Hello

I just bought a 2407FPW and really like it. I know that it is a 16:10 monitor but when I pop in a DVD I get the huge black bars on the top and bottom.

I thought since it is very close to a 16:9 that it wuld be so big. They look about the same size as when I had my regular CRT.

Im using WinDVD platinum. I want to get them smaller or non existent. Ive looked through the options but there doesnt seem to be anything I can do.

Let me know if you have suggestions.

Also does anyone know of a good software program for helping to tweak out your color that doesnt require those hardware color detectors?

THanks

Even on my 16:9 display I get some pretty sizable bars dependent on the source DVD. I'd recommend not panning/zooming the picture cause you're apt to lose a lot of data on the film, but if you must you will need to go through the PowerDVD menus to find that option. A 24" monitor requires you to be pretty close for DVD viewing, maybe 3 feet, it's best for personal viewing. Here are some links.
