2407 price drop post 2707?

Does anyone know (or speculate) that there will be a price drop on the Dell 2407 monitors once the 2707 comes out?

Also, any ideas when the 2707 will be out?

Can't really say anything about that, but if you're in Canada, dell.ca is already having a sale on the 2407 down $200 ($899 to $699).

I have seen somewhere (don't remember) that the Dell 27-inch is going to launch before the end of January.

Regarding price drops for the 2407...Well of course the price will drop. The 24-inch pricey will be pulled down from below by Dell's 22-inch E228 and pushed from above by the new 27-inch (who might be named 2708, and not 2707).

If you read this page from The Inquirer, you will see that they expect 22- to 24-inch 1920x1200 screens to break the $500 price barrier in 2007. They probably meant 23 to 24-inch.

I tend to agree with this. A 2407 for $499 before Christmas 2007... I would almost bet on 499 $ Canadian

I just ordered a E228 from Dell for $299 CDN. But I'm seriously considering returning it for the 2407 at $699 even though I haven't got it yet. I don't know. Hopefully the 2708 launches soon and I will be able to pick that up instead of my E228. I'm just not sure that I will be happy with the E228 and I didn't want to spend the extra money on the 2407 because it sucks for 360 and component inputs, which hopefully will be resolved with the 2707. Argh! I'm so confused!

Proper scaling (1:1) for 4:3 resolution and 1080 content
Component and svideo inputs that don't suck completely
Nice 360 gaming
