I own the 2405FPW and purchased it new when it was first released. I use it 10-16 hours a day for work and recently noticed that there is image retention in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.

I use the monitor for programming and my code is etched into the screen by the end of the day. It isn't noticeable until you put a grey background behind it. My terminal windows are black blackground with white font. I can usually get rid of the retention by blasting a full white image for a few hours but the next day the retention is back (different image, same location).

Anyone ever experienced something like this? I don't leave the monitor on when I am not using it however like I said it is usually on for many hours while I am working.

Happened to me with the original 3007WFP.

My retention didn't last as long as yours thou, only for a few minutes.

Anyways called Dell, they sent me a 3007WFP-HC. I hope you are still under warranty

LCD's contrary to popular belief can have image burn-ins. It does take a long long time for that to happen.

Hey, mine is also old but in excellent condition (only used for few hours per month, anything other than gaming or rendering I use latop or netbook), I'd sell it for you in a sec... :D
